Event Dome Tents for Rentals, Sales and High-Impact Experiences
Create a distinctive temporary venue with a geodesic event dome configured around your site, audience, schedule and brand. DomeGuys supports rentals, sales and installation for single events, touring programs and longer-term activations.
What is an event dome tent?
An event dome is a self-supporting geodesic structure used to create a highly visible temporary or semi-permanent venue. DomeGuys offers event dome rentals, sales and installation, with in-stock configurations as well as custom cover, entry and branding options. The right solution depends on attendance, use, site conditions, dates, weather plan, access and the responsibilities assigned to each project partner.
Match the venue
Start with use, audience, footprint, height, doors, egress, floor or ground conditions and local requirements—not only the outside diameter.
Match the schedule
Confirm event dates, access hours, setup and strike windows, shipping route, equipment access and whether inventory is available or must be manufactured.
Match the experience
Choose translucent, opaque, clear or custom-printed treatments around daylight, privacy, HVAC, projection, branding and the desired atmosphere.
Should you rent or buy an event dome?
DomeGuys supports both paths. A rental can deliver maximum visual impact for one or several events without committing to long-term ownership, maintenance and storage. Purchase can make more sense for repeat use, a permanent program or a heavily customized asset.
| Path | Best fit | Plan for | Ask in the quote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Event dome rental | Single events, short runs, touring stops or a first activation | Dates, inventory, transport, install labor, equipment, anchoring and return logistics | Which structure, cover, openings and services are included? |
| Event dome purchase | Repeated use, long deployments or an owned branded venue | Storage, maintenance, training, site work, local approvals and future deployment labor | Which components are standard, custom and client supplied? |
| Frame rental + custom cover purchase | A unique branded or specialty cover is required for a limited program | Artwork, fabrication approval, manufacturing lead time and cover ownership after the event | Can an in-stock frame meet the dates while a cover is manufactured? |
Event dome configurations and environments

What a standard rental includes—and what can be customized
For event dome rentals, DomeGuys provides a complete standard dome in an appropriate size for the venue. The project quote should clearly separate the standard package, selected options and site-specific services.
Standard rental configuration
Structural-grade steel frame with a white powder-coated finish, plus a white translucent or opaque outer cover. A bayview window can be selected as an option.
Available configuration options
Fully clear vinyl covers, double doors and tunnels may be available. The final opening plan should coordinate guest flow, accessibility, egress, weather and the interior layout.
Custom cover options
Specific colors, special cover layouts and fully printed domes are common. When a cover must be purchased, DomeGuys can still offer a frame-only rental.
Rental and sales pricing excludes shipping, install labor, equipment rental, anchoring, climate control, flooring, engineering and other associated fees unless the project quote expressly includes them. Which items are required depends on project scope and site conditions.
Plan the site, installation and responsibilities together
A dome quote is strongest when structural, operational and guest-experience decisions are addressed in one brief.
Lead times, deposits and installation
Choose size around capacity, layout and site constraints
Outside diameter alone does not determine whether a dome fits the event. Capacity, stage and production footprint, furnishings, back-of-house needs, entry locations, accessible routes and required egress all consume usable area.
Use the DomeGuys size reference as a starting point, then confirm the configuration against the actual site plan and the requirements of the venue and authority having jurisdiction.

Answers for planners comparing event dome tents
How much does an event dome cost?
Cost depends on whether the dome is rented or purchased, size, cover, openings, branding, dates, inventory, site, shipping and installation scope. Shipping, install labor, equipment rental, anchoring, climate control, flooring, engineering and related site costs are not included unless stated in the quote.
What is included in a standard event dome rental?
The standard configuration includes a structural-grade steel, white powder-coated frame and a white translucent or opaque outer cover. A bayview window may be added, and clear vinyl covers, double doors, tunnels and custom cover treatments may be available.
Is it better to rent or buy an event dome?
Rental is often a good fit for one event, a short run or a first activation because it avoids long-term ownership, maintenance and storage. Purchase can suit repeated use, longer deployments or a permanent branded program. DomeGuys can compare both scopes.
How long does an event dome take to manufacture?
If the required items are not in stock, manufacturing and delivery can take approximately 3–6 weeks depending on project scope and current workload. Custom printing, approvals and logistics should be scheduled separately.
Who installs the event dome?
A typical installation uses one DomeGuys lead working with local labor provided by DomeGuys or the client. DomeGuys also allows qualified client installations. The agreement should assign labor, supervision, equipment, anchoring and inspection responsibilities.
What are the tradeoffs of an event dome tent?
A dome creates a distinctive, column-free environment, but it still requires deliberate planning for usable floor area, curved walls, openings, anchoring or ballast, climate control, acoustics, lighting, projection, accessibility, weather and approvals. Addressing these constraints early prevents expensive changes later.
Do event domes require permits or engineering?
Requirements depend on jurisdiction, venue, size, duration, occupancy and site conditions. Ask the authority having jurisdiction and venue what drawings, engineering, fire/life-safety documentation, wind criteria, anchoring details and inspections are required.
