Geodesic Dome Sizes & Capacity Guide
DomeGuys geodesic event domes range from 16 feet to 120 feet in diameter, with approximately 200 to 11,310 square feet of floor area. For a fast starting point, choose the smallest size that accommodates your guests, furnishings, production footprint, entries and required circulation—then confirm the final plan with DomeGuys.
What Changes the Dome Size You Need?
Guest count is the starting point, not the final answer. The right dome diameter depends on how much usable floor area the layout, production plan, access and operating systems require.
Use the four planning factors below before committing to a size.
01 — Guest Layout and Comfort
Banquet tables, lounge seating, wider aisles and dance floors use more room than a simple standing or theater-style plan. Two events with the same guest count may therefore need different dome sizes.
03 — Site Access, Entries and Egress
The available site must accommodate the dome plus entrances, accessible routes, required exits and installation access. The footprint and circulation plan can also change based on door choices and connecting tunnels.
02 — Stage and Production Space
Stages, projection surfaces, lighting, sound equipment, control positions and backstage or service areas reduce the floor area available to guests. Plan the production footprint before selecting the diameter.
04 — Flooring, Doors and Climate Control
Portable flooring, upgraded doors and climate-control equipment can affect circulation, equipment placement and usable interior space. Review DomeGuys flooring, doors and tunnels, and HVAC options while the layout is being planned.
